When I first started my business I sold only to retail customers; now it is more like 90/10 wholesale to retail, but we still get retail orders almost daily. I am having a whole new site done and want to implement a new cart to better handle the wholesale ordering. I want a cart that enables me to have wholesale customers log in and then they will see the wholesale prices, be able to place their online order, have their credit card processed with exact shipping charges added. Some customers pay on terms, so they would also need to be able to check out without paying. I want to be able to set an exact wholesale price, not just a % off retail.
I am definitely willing to pay for the right cart, but I don't want to unless the software really offers better features. I had thought of Magento, but am scared of speed issues and am not clear on how it would handle the wholesale pricing. I don't need hundreds of products, only have about 40 SKUs total; I do want multiple product images with the ability to pop-up to larger images or do the lightbox effect. I like the way Magento does this, also like the X-Cart magnifier module (unsure of how X-Cart handles wholesale and have also heard support can be spotty and lots of add-ons needed to buy?)
