Wipes?

Cloth wipes seem expensive to me- why would they be better than just looking for washcloths on clearance and just using those instead?

Wash cloths would make great cloth wipes. But, like the start-up cost of cloth dipes, even spendy cloth wipes pay for themselves. TBH, it never even occurred to me to use regular wash cloths as cloth wipes until I read about other mommas doing it. But, by that time, I had already invested in Thirsties Fab Wipes. Luckily, I think that these are "Fab" wipes...otherwise, I might have been more irked...

After buying a starter set from GMD that came with cloth wipes I started making my own.
You can but upulstery weight flannel from the fabric store and cut them into squares.
I surge all my edges but if you buy regular flannel you can sew to squares together and then turn them rightside out and top stitch the edges.
Super easy. Or if you don't sew you can probably get away with using pinking sheers to cut them and then not have to sew at all.

I use wipes that I made from remnants. Remnants are cheap and even small or oddly-sized ones can make several wipes.

I've used cheap washcloths and baby washcloths (got a ton at the baby shower). They work fine .

Baby washcloths work fine. Some of them can get a bit scratchy after a bit, but they work great.
