A "good" mattress

Safe, not leaching out toxic chemicals, made out of something comfortable....

Am I doomed to never own one simply b/c Im not a millionaire?

I've been saving up for a new mattress (king size like we have) figuring we'd just keep out boxsprings and frame....and the more I learn about what affordable mattresses are made of the more Im thinking we should just sleep on the floor.

Is there good mattress I can afford??

What's your budget? Most of the ones I've seen are going to be around $1000 or a bit more for a king. But conventional mattresses aren't cheap either when you get up to the king size!

They're not cheap, but I've heard good things about the beds from this company:
soaring heart natural bedding.

Futons are sometimes a more affordable natural bed.

Is there a company local to you where you could see their products in person and not have to pay for shipping? That would be a big savings.

Everyone in our house sleeps on a Soaring Heart futon. DH's and mine is wool and cotton; the kids have the simple cotton futons. We love them.
