Asked to stop nursing

A woman I know send me this story for her:

Today I got my Kingsley's ears pierced at the Piercing Pagoda. It was supoosed to be a happy moment I wouldn't soon forget. Until after the second ear was pierced, I went to breastfeed her for her comfort. I was then told I would get in trouble for doing that and that others had gotten in trouble before. I was told by the piercer that she felt it was not her moral belief and I was asked to leave her kiosk. Although, I did tell her it was illegal to ask me to leave or to stop breastfeeding, she presumed to say that it probably was and she didn't care. I looked up the law for the state of Georgia and it clearly states that I have the right and that her actions were illegal. Now what am I to do? Where do I turn? And who do I turn to?

I am just totally offended! What rights do I have?

She doesn't want to sue, but what can she do to get it home to that woman that it's not ok to impose her beliefs on a scared baby?

www.firstright.org

Also contact their corporate office and explain that their employee clearly violated your rights under the laws of the State of Georgia and that she willful did not care and she did it knowing that she was violating the law and told you so.

Does she own the Kiosk? Piercing Pagoda's are franchises right? I'd write the company, write the mall, and just get really loud about it.

I also wouldn't have paid her.

I get the emotion behind this, but two wrongs don't make a right. It would certainly lessen the credibility of the mama if she didn't pay.

I totally agree.

I definitely say write the company. Franchizes don't want bad press, they will probably make it right. Go for the press, too, if it comes to that. And we will all do our nurse-in thing if the company doesn't set that girl straight (maybe not fire her but at least tell her she doesn't have that right and put up the international bfing sign in all their windows and if she does it again, suspend or fire her).
