Just Stripped, new rash, HUH?

I just boiled all of our diapers (20 min at least, then hot wash). I am using Country Save detergent, which on pinstripesandpolkadots is an acceptable detergent. Why on earth is my son getting a brand new rash? The diapers have probably been used 3 times after the stripping, with no enzyme type of detergent. Well. . .we have been washing our other clothes with Kirkland Free & Clear. Do you think that is the issue? Is the rash from something else? Ack! This is frustrating.

I hear you should really use your diaper detergent on all your clothes because even Free and Clear detergents leave a residue. I had stink problems until I started using Country Save on everything.

Good luck!

What material is touching his skin? Some children have a sensitivity to poly materials, such as fleece or suedecloth.

Just prefolds. Some fitted, but even those are organic cotton. I am just confused by the fact we have gone 3 weeks with no problems, then all of a sudden, major rash.

Could it be a new food? I don't know how old your son is or what he is eating - my son gets bum rashes from soy, strawberries, or tomatoes if he eats too many. He gets general skin rashes from potatoes, dairy, or onions...so whew...it can be so many things!

Have you ever considered an allergy?
