I've been having a similar issue. HOWEVER... I've asked DH to smell me and he says he doesn't smell anything. So, I think I might just be oversensitive to it.

Just thought I'd throw that out there. It explains why my antiperspirant only "works" for a month or two, though - because when I get used to the antiperspirant smell, my smell is still there underneith. DH says I smell like the antiperspirant at those times. :

I'm not sure what to do beyond that, though, you know?
Oh, no. DH can smell it. He says he doesn't mind, thinks it's kind of funny, but it's *definitely* not my imagination.

I don't really know how I could stop. I suppose I could hose off with just water... But then I still smell and I don't know what's the use of taking a shower anyhow.

It sounds like you have tried routine bathing and decent diet, and home remedies.

Maybe it's time to consider that you really do have a metabolic disorder, take the next step and have this ruled out, show this to the doctor and get tested.

I am with you. I started stinking in April. I think it is stress. I was stressed out with a big event I was organizing, once it was over the smell was gone. Now I am stressed at home and it is back. It may be also hormones, DD stopped nursing in Dec and there is still some milk in there. I use straight tea tree oil in the shower and rub it in very well and rinse lightly. It seems to work better than alcohol. I also have a spray bottle w/ TTO and a little water to use between showers.

So, well, I found out I have a thyroid problem, yesterday. So there's ONE metabolic disorder I get to deal with. I am starting on synthroid for now; will see how I do on it and reevaluate in a month or so.

In the meantime, I will ask about other tests. Unfortunately, I can't find a dermatologist to get me in before July 1st. After that I am switching to Kaiser and I'll need to get a referral from my PCP to get the visit covered. Shouldn't be too difficult I don't think. I'll complain about the "rash" under my arm and ask if I can get it checked to make sure it's not psoriasis since I have that other places.

I was curious if you ever figured anything out? I too have the exact same prob you do strong strong bo no amount of washing helps, not fishy odor just bo no matter what, however I have had my thyroid checked and its normal?

My sister stinks when she eats normal food when she eats healthy food and stays away from wheat and sugar and dairy she smells fine...she also doesn't drink enough water.....

BTW - my armpit with the milk glad in it (it gets engorged with milk) smells.....not that that helps you - just saying I can kind of relate

You know, I saw a doc about the rash under my arm... He said it was "most likely" yeast and told me to use that athlete's foot cream, clotrimazole? or somthing, and since I've started using it, I've noticed a LOT less stink. BUT-- it's not gone all the way and I think I may need to get something else to kill it.

I am considering maybe one of those monistat-type creams, or maybe Gentian Violent or something that you could also use for Thrush, to finish killing it off.

So I guess it's some kind of infection, at least for me. But like I said, the problem is only less, not gone completely.

Try powdered vitamin C. Just dampen your hands and rub a little bit of powder on your armpits. I have the same issue with smell , and it definately helped me.
Glad to hear that you are getting some answers. Maybe check out the iodine thread if you haven't already, since you definately have a thyroid issue. (Actually, I think I've seen you there )

Maybe check out coconut oil, too. I was reading about it yesterday and thyroid issues were mentioned on many sites. I was looking for skin care issues, though, so I didn't delve too deeply into the rest.

If it is yeast you can fight it from the inside out, by eating probiotics and avoiding sugar.
