Dr. Appt today UPDATE!

I had my first doctor appointment today and the doctor could not find the baby's heartbeat with a Doppler. I am supposed to be 10 weeks today. I am scheduled for an ultrasound tomorrow at 9 AM. The doctor said not to stress out because it is still early, and my hormones are working way overtime. She actually also gave me a script for Zofran because I am so, so sick and also thought that perhaps I should have an ultrasound to check for twins. So I know I am not supposed to be stressed but I am. We found both of my other babies' heartbeats at 10 weeks with no trouble, so this is really nervewracking for me. Please keep your fingers crossed we find a strong little bean or two tomorrow morning.

**UPDATE**

Just got back from our ultrasound. One little, healthy bean with a heartrate of 180!! The baby measures 9 weeks 4 days so I was only 9 weeks 3 days when my doctor tried to find the hb with a doppler. A little off from my LMP but right on target with a possible date of conception so it looks like I have a new EDD of 1/23! ::

Try not to worry to much if you can. My OB said he wouldnt even try until atleast 11 weeks. Every pregnancy is different so just because you havent heard this one yet doesnt mean there is a problem. I just found the hb today on doppler and I am getting near 11 weeks. It took me quite some time to find it and today was the first day I could hear it. So I will send positive vibes your way that tomorrow you see a beautiful little bean in there dancing away.

I know it's hard not to stress, but if it makes you feel any better, my mw couldn't find my first baby's hb at 12 weeks even! We were trying to not worry, but decided to get an ultrasound cuz we couldn't stand the wait. He was in there, perfect heartbeat, dancing around like crazy! ha! I may have had a tipped uterus or something. Plus, throughout the rest of that pregnancy he was stubborn. She could usually only get a heartbeat thru the cord cuz he wouldn't show us his heart! silly baby. Praying everything is okay & the u/s will be a JOY tomorrow!

Hang in there mama. It is still early, and if you have an anterior placenta it could be harder to hear. I hope everything goes well at the u/s tomorrow.

My OB says he really only tries to find heartbeats after 12 weeks. Otherwise they stress pregnant women to not hear something.

oh hun, I'm sorry you're getting all worried. I hope you have good news with your u/s! If it makes you feel any better, I had an u/s on June 1st at 9 weeks 2 days and heard a great heartbeat and saw baby wiggling around. I went to the midwife on June 11th, at 10 weeks 5 days and couldn't hear the heartbeat on the doppler. 2 things, I have a tipped back uterus, and also at the ultrasound he said the placenta is favoring the front of the uterus, so I think those affect the ability of the doppler to pick up the heartbeat. keep us updated!

ddc crashing from dec 09....

i just had my 14 week appt last saturday and she couldnt find it with the doppler.

its early, really. I didnt hear dd2's heartbeat until she was almost 20 weeks.

If the uterus is growing and you are having symptoms- Id say all is well.

Its ctually really common not to find a heart beat that ear;y.
Try not to strees, at least you have an ultrasound fairly soon, that will help a lot
