replacing elastics of old fuzzi bunz?

I have a stash of size M fuzzi bunz from dd (I only began cd'ing when she was 1 y.o.) and the elastic began to wear out by the time she was using the potty, at about 2 yrs 3 months. I am now getting together a newborn stash for baby #2, due in 5 weeks, and would like to reuse the fb's when the little guy is big enough. I found the instructions on the fb website for replacing the elastics in the legs and back. My question is--has anyone done this and had good results? I am worried specifically about the outer material being damaged.
Thanks!

I haven't replaced the elastic in FB but I have replaced the elastic in my BGs. It's a tedious job but it worked out well and did not cause any damage to the material or cause any leaking.

I haven't tried their methods, but here's another couple links with different methods that I've seen. Haven't done any of them, but it doesn't look too bad.

But in the end I had 5 functional diapers, so that was good.

That's good to hear. I have a dozen or so, so I guess I should get started now
