i think i ruined my pie

i tried to make a coconut cream pie and i followed the directions to the T. however, i had to take it out of the oven 7 minutes early because the meringue was almost burned. it has been cooling for at least an hour now and it is still really wobbly when i move it. will it set up in the fridge? do i need to discard the meringue and put it back in the oven? help! i stink at this baking thing.

What was your thickener in the cream? Cornstarch, tapioca, flour, eggs?

Most of them should set up in the fridge - the only one that might be a problem is the eggs. But I'd still refrigerate it and go from there.

we can't do corn so i used potato starch instead. i didn't even think to check to see if potato starch is a 1:1 substitute for corn starch. i totally lied, i didn't follow the recipe to the T. : it's been in the fridge for awhile and it seems like it is thickening up a bit.

i guess i am just a dork. haha. the pie turned out fine, except for the meringue being overcooked.

i don't bake very often (except for gf bread) so i start to panic pretty quickly apparently. hehehe.
