teething chew toys

Hi,

My grandson is 6 1/2 months old and teething. My daughter is not comfortable with giving him plastic teething toys and she wants him to have something besides wood. She is looking for something rubbery, silicone or natural rubber or?

Anyone know a source, on or offline?

Thanks

It may sound strange, but what about a good quality rubber kitchen spatula? The heat resistant ones have a great soft texture that I don't hink could be chewed throug. Ds didn't like any plastic or rubbery textures, and he happily teethed on my wooden spoon, and dried strips of sea weed (desperate moments call for desperate measures!)

Thanks, Carrie, I'll pass the suggestions on to my daughter. He already chews on wooden spoons but the spatula and the seaweed are both new thoughts.

You're welcome. I think it was kombu that I used, it was particularly thick. Ds still likes to snack on it dry and crunchy
