New "Who's still pregnant?" Thread - Page 4

No baby here There will be NO telling this baby to wait!! I'm 40w, give or take a day depending on whose dates you go by. I'm seriously seriously contemplating the stretch and sweep at my next appt on Wed. I decided against it last week, so I give myself credit for that. lol.

I wonder how many of us June DDC'ers are left?

Still here. Having some contractions tonight after walking a few miles but they're not regular yet.

I may let them do a sweep if I make it to my next appt too, I prefer that over a scheduled induction anyway.

41 weeks today! Today is DD's 4th birthday and she woke up and asked if i was going to have the baby on her birthday....i'm trying kid!! lol.

I have random sporatic contractions....nothing thats doing anything. Having a homebirth so i dont feel any pressure to "hurry up" but i still would obviously like to have this kid sooner than later. I think my midwives are going to sweep my membranes at my next apt too, which is on Thursday.

Glad to see I'm not the only one still hanging in there!

I'm here too. Yesterday was my due date, and it was interesting trying to tell a 5 and 7 yo what that means! But I've readjusted my expectations, and if this baby is born before the 12th, I'll be happy! I'm getting a massage this week, hopefully, so that's something to look fwd to. I wish I had more going on to keep me busy! But then again, I can't really walk around a lot or do a bunch and it's super hot, so how much can I do?? I need to plan some kind of craft or activity for the kids today. We'll see.....

I know there must be more than 3 of us! lol

I was trying to explain to my 13 y/o dd that even though yesterday was my 'due date' it didn't mean I would have him on that day...

Hearing her show me off to her friend at the store 'That's my mom, LOOK how pregnant she is!!'... I was muttering to myself at the end of the aisle that I have an idea how animals at the zoo feel now.

Still here Walking everyday but contractions are getting less and less frequent
I was a day early with my first so this is not expected - everyone says how easy the labor will be but I'm afraid that jinxed it
Even though it's just an estimated due date - when you go over it's not expected!!!!! (for me)

Well, I just got back and I am 1cm dilated and 85% effaced. She was very optimistic about my effacement even though I am not dilated hardly at all.

We scheduled me to come in Friday afternoon to get my membranes stripped and I am happy about that. DH will be in town.. I'll have her strip me, then we'll get some lunch and catch a movie and will hang around the FSBC area in case anything happens.. We live 30 mins away from the BC, so I don't want to go home afterwards unless nothing happens.

I am still here too... just being a bit of a lurker like always. Ugh, I really did want my June Baby and now we are almost to July!! The fact that that makes me want to cry is probably a good sign though right (more hormonal?) In fact today everything makes me want to cry, or tell people off (why do I feel like everyone implys that I have some control over going into labor and I have somehow failed by going past my edd?) Really though, I am mostly comfortable as far as such things go and feel like I have less signs of labor than ever. Maybe that is good too? The calm before the storm? I am really trying to be positive. Whats really weird is I was in such a mindset for being ready and now I can't seem to get past this strange feeling that is hard to describe, but like I can't even imagine it happening anymore... like it isn't really ever going to happen or something. I bet she will be born on the 4th as all along I have joked how that would be the worst possible time for us to have her born.

That's wonderful! Effacement really is more significant than dilation. I'm sure it will be soon for you. By my (untrained) estimations, my dw was about 80-85% effaced when her labor started as well. She was not dilated at all. After a day of very mild, spaced out contractions (3-5 per hour), things started getting more intense, and only then was she at 1 cm. Our baby was born 4 hours later!

quixotic - I've been like that today too... more emotional and even a bit nasty! haha I sat down to a wonderful dinner my DH made and didn't want to eat a bite. I tried to make myself but I just couldn't eat! Then I went mad sweeping the floors and folding laundry for an hour. I hope it means something...

LizzyQ - that sounds promising!! Good luck!!

Did you ladies join the July DDC also? I never did, but I guess if nothing happens tomorrow I should pop over there? Is there some sort of ettiquette for these things?

I lost some blood tinged mucus after I got home.. and called my mw right away, but she told me it was nothing- just because she checked me oh well!

I did join both! Since my EDD is June 30th, and DS1 came at 41 weeks, I figured I might as well join both!

Maybe...maybe...something might be happening. I've had a few contractions that feel different. Slightly uncomfortable, and my whole uterus gets hard. They're not crampy or painful But they are happening more regularly than any BH have been, and happen whether I'm standing or lying down.
I still haven't gotten my hopes up too much, but dp is pretty excited about this, and seems to think this is IT.
If this IS it, we'll have one ds born on the last day of July, and one born on the last day of June

I did not join the July DDC because all along I've refused to believe that it was a possibility that he'd be born in July (ds1 was born at 38w)... sigh. Can you tell my intuition is no good? (maybe!!) lol

I woke up this morning feeling SO GREAT. Usually I have been tired in the mornings, sit around & want to rest... today I have so much energy. And feeling a little crampy, like menstrual cramps... but nothing time-able, more like a constant nagging feeling. I really hope it means something. It is a BEAUTIFUL day here, I keep looking out the window & thinking how perfect it would be to have a baby today...

So the contractions lasted from about 6pm to 3am, getting more regular and uncomfortable (but not painful). At the end, they were 10-15minutes. Then they stopped

But I had some bleeding. It wasn't anything like I thought bloody show would be, there was no mucous and it seemed like a lot (kept seeing pink/red on the tp when wiping, it dripped on the floor when I stood up, and I ended up putting pad on). I called my m/w (yep, at 3am- sorry m/w!) and she said it sounded normal and like my cervix was dilating! But that I wasn't really in labor yet. We did have sex earlier last night, but I'm hoping that with all the uncomfortable contractions that it has more to with prelabor than damage from sex!

She said "probably sometime in the next day or two."

Dp and I were both so so sure that last night was prelabor, and it would mean a baby coming today! But it's not looking too promising at this very moment.

I'm still here too...at 41 and 3. Getting a wee bit impatient!

I refused the induction, though, that was scheduled for tomorrow...want to let baby come when he or she is ready. Doc's not thrilled, but she'll live.

U-turn- good for you for declining the induction if you didn't want it! I love your attitude I hope you go into labor very very soon- today would be nice, eh?

On the plus side, I'm more comfortable today. So far, I've not had any of the "baby stabbing me in the cervix" feelings that I've had for the last week. It seems quite likely that he's changed positions. Maybe dropped more? Or rotated? Seems like if he dropped more, my cervix would hurt more, but maybe his position for the last week was just bad.

My baby is posterier and sends me shooting pains down my thigh.. so maybe that is the reason you are feeling more comfortable. I really need this baby to move around and let me go into labor (this weekend.. or Thurs evening).
