Ezra is here! (or, How I learned to love prodromal labor)

After two weeks of almost daily contractions (sometimes 5-6 hour stretches of 5 minutes apart), unbearable bladder pressure, baby pushing on every imaginable internal organ until I thought I would burst... our baby boy was born on Saturday night! Fast! Three INTENSE hours from water breaking at home to delivery of our lovely (and surprisingly gigantic) 9 lb 7 oz baby boy at the hospital with an amazing midwife.

We live half a mile from the hospital, and when it was all over, the midwife said, "you know, you probably shouldn't move farther away from the hospital...or think about having a home birth next time!"

Lots more detail on our blog!

I've been mostly a lurker all these months, but it was great to know there was a community of wonderful women out there all going through this together. Thanks.

You give me hope that the uncomfortable contractions I was feeling last night might have been useful after all
