What's wrong with my tomato plants?

I thought it was just over watering, but I cut the bottom stems off and its still spreading (not to mention, we're having a drought right now so they're not over watered). These pics were taken a week or two ago before I cut the bottom stems off, but like I said, its spreading upwards. What is it and how do I fix it?? They've got tons of big green tomatoes all over them now so I don't want to give up on them.

ETA: It looks like its on some of my other plants too, just not as bad... (basil on the left, cuke seedling on the right)

Someone with more knowledge will likely come along with the answer....but I looked at the pic. I wonder, when u water, are you hitting the bottom leaves with the water spray?

I've made that mistake before, and the result looks like your pic....I've read it's important to water the soil around the 'maters, but don't get any on the actual leaves themselves....

How nice to have lots of tomatoes on your plants! Mine are still quite small, and just starting to flower, but then, I am a little bit north of you

I'm having a problem with my tomato plants, too.
In your pics, it looks like there is some sort of pest causing the problem in the leaves- I doubt it has anything to do with watering. If I see anything in my quest to find out what is wrong with my plants, I'll report back. Don't give up!

i believe that's called blossom end rot. i think it can be caused by either over watering or an imbalance of something in the soil.

The basil certainly looks to me like something is eating on it with those little trails.

Yeah, I was kinda thinking it may be something eating them too... Because it has the little random trails all over it (same as the basil, only the tomato is turning brown and yellow as well). It doesn't make sense! I just hope its not fungus or something. >.<

I'm afraid of putting anything on them though... I found some insecticidal soap at walmart but its by Orkin so I wasn't sure if it was actually truly safe or not. I'm not sure where else to look for insecticide.

The way you describe it moving up the plant does sound like a wilt. I haven't seen "tunnels" like those before but I am still pretty new at this. Maybe fusarium?

Alternatively, maybe they're not getting enough water? It is hard to tell but that looks like kind of a small pot for a tomato.
Good luck. I hope you don't lose your plants.

Thanks... They're actually cherry tomatoes specifically for containers, so the pot should be big enough, according to the marker they all came with...

I'm pretty sure thats what happend to our tomatoes last year - and all my squash/cucumbers/zuchini/potatoes. I'm pretty sure all the squash had powdery mildew, and suspect the same with my tomatoes, though tbh I'm not really sure. I know this year we're spraying with Serenity (an organic spray for those things...), every week and thus far it seems to be working. Last year I had 75+ tomatoes and didn't get hardly any tomatoes (like maybe 1-3 per plant. Tops.)

Are you saying you had 75+ tomato PLANTS!?

Yup. This year I have 66 plants... hoping they do way better than last year. Last year I canned 98 quarts & 18 or so pints of diced tomatoes... and had to buy virtually all of them cause' my tomatoes did so awful.
