So, where do they get this constant 300,00 figure from anyway? Seems it's a figure that never goes up or down. Where is this figured tracked for deaths in the US?

If I am not mistaken, only pediatric deaths are actually tracked...at least they are the only ones I see on the MMWR.

Yeah, that's what I was wondering as I don't see that many deaths from cumulative pediatric flu at the end of 2008 in the MMWR.... nothing large enough to contribute to the 300,00 figure. So why do they keep trotting this figure out? Where is it coming from?

Do you mean the 36,000 flu-related deaths they talk about each year? Was that a typo?
