I will join the tribe! DH and I want to do a homemade Christmas also. Our budget is also pretty tight, so I want to also do a lot of repurposing.

DS's first birthday is November 16th, and I'd like to make him a Waldorf doll. For Christmas I want to make him some clothes, if I have the patience knit matching sweaters for DS and his doll, make a quiet book with Bible stories in it. I think DH is going to paint a toy chest (he's the artistic one, not me) and I'm not sure what else he's going to do. For other family members I have a few ideas:
-quilted oven mits for my dad, made of repurposed jeans, with a fire/grill theme applique
-repurposed aprons w/ "Bringin' home the bacon
AND cookin' it" and a bacon and eggs applique (FiL)
-Tea cozy with wooly sheep applique (MiL, she really needs a new one her old one is MANKY)
-quilted oven mits with pig applique (my mom)
-thrift store tea cups filled with homemade bath salts (?sisters, SiLs?)
-Grocery bags made of repurposed Tshirts (?BiLs?)
Basically the only person I have no clue what to make is DH.
