What are your favorite health/healing/whole food nutrition websites or resources?

Thanks, Pat

http://www.nourishedkitchen.com

http://www.foodrenegade.com

http://www.cookingtf.com

http://www.realmilk.com

http://www.thenourishinggourmet.com

and threads here of course...

I have been searching for the past few years...trying to figure out exactly what I want and need nutritionally. I've done the raw thing & eat to live. I've done more "mainstream" diets. I've done the "yeah I'm eating lots of cookies, and breads, and stuff from a box but they are from Whole Foods so it's ok" thing. Eating traditional foods makes the most sense to me in terms of my health, my family's health, my ethics, and my enjoyment of food.

Those websites have some fantastic recipes...the blogs include many recipes that are good for people in transition to Real Food/traditional food.

right now i'm hooked on marksdailyapple.com

maybe it's the photos of his six pack abs and not necessarily the information on his site. (don't tell my husband!)

no, really, he has some interesting information and quite a bit of passion behind it, oh and some really yummy recipes. i don't give a thought to the supplements...

The book The Blue Zone is absolutely amazing. It is a modern day weston price book. But the author is paid by National Geographic, so i would read the story carefully:
Like when the autor goes to Costa Rica and follows the people and one man he is following buys his wekly groceries, and buy 1/2 galoon of lard for the week. Come on it is obvious he is frying his tortillas in it. Not low fat, but the author has a conclusion page at the end of each chapter and says, to eat low fat. Very contradictory.
Or the chapter on the people from Okinawa. The old woman eats "stinky" soy (duh, fermented), but the chapter conclusion says to eat loads of soy to be healthy like those people, but mentions soy hot dogs, etc, not real fermented products.
Just ignore the conclusions in the chapters and you will read an amazing book on how to live healthy and old!

http://www.everythingfreeeating.blogspot.com/
(awesome, creative TF blog for folks w/ food sensitivities--gf/cf, corn free and more!)

http://paleofood.com/
(tons of paleo recipes)

http://www.cookingtf.com/ and http://www.tfrecipes.com/forum/
(krankedyann from MDC operates this awesome forum and site!)

http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/gfcfnn/
(I love this yahoo group, which has a focus on gf/cf native nutrition--lots of info on healing here as well!)

Love the nourishing gourmet as well, which has been mentioned already.

I also loved both "Real Food: What to Eat and Why" and "Real Food for Mother and Baby" by Nina Planck, along w/ Jessica Prentice's "Full Moon Feast". I also really like "The Garden of Eating" cookbook by Rachel Mastez.

http://sproutpeople.com/
(I think this is just a really cool site if you're interested in sprouting, which is something I've gotten really into lately--esp. grains!!

Love this thread!

ETA: Sorry for any spelling mistakes! And I see that tfrecipes and cookingtf have already been mentioned, but they are worth the 2nd plug--TONS of info there!!

http://breadandmoney.com/ - Richard Morris, author of A Life Unburdened: Getting Over Weight and Getting On With My Life - His blog seems to be defunct now but there is some great stuff in the archives.

Mother Linda's http://www.motherlindas.com

Path to Freedom http://www.pathtofreedom.com/ - Not really health info but lots of great inspiration to move away from the typical way we get our food!

The People Who Feed Us - http://www.thepeoplewhofeedus.com/ - Nina Planck was featured on here and I found it through her site. It is lots of little interview videos with different people in the local/real food production business like her, Jere Gettle from Baker Creek Seed Co., etc...

Oh, and http://www.leeners.com/ - I could probably spend a fortune there.
