So, we have a pretty well established stash in terms of OS diapers (pockets and fitteds) and then sized Fuzzi Bunz for nighttime. We also have a stash of KL 0s for the newborn stage but I am just not loving them this time around. DS2 is 1 week old and they just feel scratchy and... bleh. Anyway, I am looking to do something different, probably prefolds but I am unsure on what size to get. Our babies tend to be between 8 and 9 pounds, do I need to get the really small size ones or would infant be ok? I don't mind the bulk, but I just don't know if I need the 2 smallest size ones from GMD or if I can get away with less? Also, we only have medium FBs right now... when will smalls start fitting? We don't generally start using pockets still they stop pooping every 2 seconds... but should I get some XS and some S, or just S? Thanks!!!

I would be willing to bet you could skip the smaller size pf's and just use the infants if you don't mind folding down a little. Seems simpler to me to have less styles even if it means a little bulk.
I haven't used the FB smalls, but they say small starts at 7 lbs so I would think you don't need xs, small should be fine.

I started using infant prefolds at around 3 weeks. I do the jellyroll fold and then when I bring it between his legs I fold it out (not under) and snappy. It works really well. Now at 8 weeks I almost don't need to fold it over!
I remember using FB's with ds1 for the first 4 months I think. Then we switched up to mediums.
