I can't reply to threads

I have been trying to post replies to threads in my DDC for almost 2 weeks and I press submit and it says 'waiting for mothering.com' for like 2 minutes and then the screen goes blank and says done. Nothing I have written has been published in over a week and I have lost alot of work. I'm getting extremely frustrated as I do not have a clue as to what's wrong. I feel like I'm missing out

You might run a virus scan and check for spyware.

I haven't heard of this issue before but I will look into it.

Another couple of ideas -- make sure you are logged in with 'remember me' at both http://www.mothering.com/discussions and http://mothering.com/discussions (in many browsers it matter if you are in both or not).

Also try my how to clear out cache and cookies in the FAQ (up above and in my siggy) under login/logging in. Most of the time posting issues are browser based, so cleaning things out (both virus scan. malware like abimommy suggested and with cache/cookies) will help.

Why cant I alway see peoples posts??? I go in one day says they have (example) 120 post next day 124 but nothing there to see??? What am I doing wrong?? Dont want to miss out on anything of the stories I'm following.

Can you share a link of a thread you are trying to post to? I can use my test account to see if i can duplicate the problem.

Did you do this?

And not log out when you are done here?

OH! Also, what browser are you using (IE, Safari, Firefox, etc)? What MDC style? (tan, blue, the new one, etc)

is the thread I have been trying to post to since it came into existence along with practically every thread in the Dec DDC. I'm using firefox and as far as I know the new MDC, it's purple and it changed for me at the time, I didn't do it. I tried everything else that was suggested, logging into both addresses and clearing cache and cookies and redoing everything. As far as I know there is no active firewall on this computer right now. I have no idea what happened but the only thing I can think of is we got a new router a few weeks back and that seems to be when things started to go all weird. But why can I post here then and not everywhere else?

I was just told I cant see all of everyones post cause I myself dont post enough. Is that true...what are the levels how much do you have to post to be able to see everything. I log on everyday, couple of times a day and read though the foums, I dont post much beause I dont think I have that much good advise but I like to get advice from here!!!!

Access to Forums has some more info on forum levels. Also, sometimes threads are removed, so that would be why you cannot see them.

I've checked your account settings and there is nothing here that would prevent you from posting in any of our forums. So it sounds like your browser or router or both are interfering.

Updating to the newest Firefox fixed a lot of my loading problems, so that may help you.

Also, try going to the bottom of any page on the left and changing the style to Tan II. I'm wondering if that may help.

Have you tried rebooting your modem and router? Every time we have a big storm here, or if we change our setup of our computers, etc we need to do that. It's easy -- turn off your computers. Unplug both the modem and the router from the power. First plug the modem back in. Wait about 60 seconds so it can 'think' and 'talk' to your internet provider. Then plug your router in and wait about another 60 seconds.

An extra thing to try after that would be: turn on your computer, open Firefox, go to Google.com or somewhere and do the deletion of cookies, cache etc. again. Come to MDC and click Ctrl+F5 keys on Windows or Shift+Command+R on Mac. That should force Firefox to start remembering MDC from scratch, which is what you want. (b/c it sounds like it is remembering fragments of here, not all of here. if that makes sense.)

Oh yeah (after all that rambling I forgot! lol) -- do you have another browser you could try just to rule that out? I have Safari & Camino as backups on my Mac. I have Google Chrome as my backup on my Windows netbook.

I tried absolutely everything you suggested and it still is not working. It seems that if I reply to a thread once, I can't post to it again. I tried posting a 'test reply' in my DDC and it worked then I couldn't post again. I even tried editing the post. Every time I try it just times out. Waiting for mothering.com..........for ever and ever. I tried everything. Thank you for taking the time to try and help me. I think I'm going to have to do something drastic, like throw the computer out the window. lol, no really.
