The whole story (and pictures) is up on my blog, but here's the brief rundown:

4 days of prodromal labor
34 hours of labor at home
6 hours of excruciating labor at the hospital with a mean nurse
Perfectly wonderful c-section
1 not so little girl, 9lbs 12oz, 21.25 in long.
Home 30 hours later

Also, she's nursing like a champ and the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. And I'm recovering surprisingly well from my section, so yay!

Yay Ashley! Finally, huh?!
Sorry about the c-section. I read the story posted by your friend and we had weirdly similar labors, mine ended in a c- section as well. I was two weeks late with tons of prodromal stuff too. I didn't dilate and then undilate though, I just never got past a 4.
I know it's hard!
FWIW, the first week it's really hard to move around, but I'm about 8 days out now and in a lot less pain and can move around quite well.

Congratulations!! I also had a C-section (haven't posted my full story yet) after 42 hours of labor, and it was wonderful as well! I'm a week past birth and I am rather shocked at how well the incision looks and how I am already feeling well and moving around. I am sorry you had a mean nurse. I also had one that wasn't too nice directly after the section, but she left the next shift and the rest were great.
