Here in Texas, you are allowed to have minors in your bar, just not serve them (for the time being). A parent can even let their child drink, however we do not allow it in our bar.

As for no big deal to have kids in bars, apparently you have not been into real bars...at least here. The language and things that people talk about, not to mention the cigarette smoke, and the fights, drug deals...there is just too much going on for a child to be ok in a bar. If its a bar in a restaurant that is completely different.

Wow, I didn't know some states had laws that strict (if they weren't dry counties). In the states I've lived, kids 17 and younger were allowed in liquor stores with their parents so they wouldn't leave small children unattended in the car, I guess. But, 18-20yo's weren't allowed in the stores. Not sure about bars, though.

But, now I live in good ol' Louisiana, where you can buy liquor in grocery stores and gas stations, so it's not an issue here at all !
