Tooth broken away and left filling exposed,ttc, breastfeeding

My tooth cracked and broke away around a filling, I am finding through redaing that this is common I have found a holistic dentist who will do a 'safe' removal of the mercury filling but how safe is it really? Is there more risk leaving the filling in or a 'safe' removal? I'm most worried becaus eI am breastfeeding and also TTC. This is all so confusing

ETA dentist says she will cut away tooth to remove filling and not touch amalgam as this reduces mercury vapour, is this true?

I'm in a similar situation! My tooth hasn't broken, but it is cracked and I need to do something with it. No replies on my thread either, so subbing in case you get some here!
