Hot summer - overheating baby while wearing?

Title says it all - anyone else concerned about overheating baby? Whether in my gauze wrap (Gypsymama Bali Breeze) or my cotton sling (Upmama), on the stinkin' hot days we had this week, there was no question the back of her neck was sweaty...how could it NOT be, wrapped up tight against my warm body?
At what point is that unhealthy or even dangerous?

I wore my dd in a cotton sling through a couple of TO summers.

I just used common sense -- drank extra myself, nursed her more to keep her hydrated (and carried water for both of us everywhere once she started drinking water), watched her for signs of discomfort, read up in my first aid manual on the signs of heat stroke for myself and for her, stayed cool and out of the sun during the heat of the day.

As long as they were getting enough fluids, I found that my babies could tolerate conditions a little warmer than I found comfortable.

Thanks - I will look up signs of heat stroke in an infant.
