Cloth vs Disposable swim diapers?

does anyone have any experience with a cloth swim diaper not working as well as a disposable? I'll be using one official "swim diaper" made of cloth, and I was also thinking of using some unstuffed fuzzi bunz, which I've been told can be used as swim diapers.

My DD is 7 months and we'll be hanging out with a bunch of other family for two weeks at my parents' house and in their pool, so I'd hate for the diaper to leak poo or something and have it put the pool out of commission for it to be cleaned!! But if the chances of that are the same with a disposable, then I'll just use the cloth.

THanks!

Hmmm, I read another post about swim diapers, and someone said you can use prefolds with a plastic pant....any comments on this? She is still BFing, but not exclusively, so her poop is definitely not as runny as when she was EBF.

If you are really worried, you could put a reusable swim diaper over a disposable one.

FWIW, neither of my 2 kids has ever pooped in the pool. If her bms are at all predictable, I would try to work around them.

I only use cloth swim dipes. I haven't had much exp with a younger babe but with my 17 mo, it keeps everything fine. We've had no poopy swim dipes tho..... We also only swim in the lake.

I'm not a fan of disposibles- they never seem to keep the poop in when we use them. We had a few cloth ones from Target that worked great last summer, but I couldn't find any in his size this summer.
