I've had kids in public school in two different states. I have always seen more of a leaning towards the Santa/Easter bunny thing than any other holidays of any other religion. So no, I don't think xtians are being put down in any way.

Dare I ask - what does the Santa/Easter Bunny thing have to do with Christianity?

If a school covers Hanukkah it will cover Christmas. They are far more likely to cover Chrstimas and not Hanukkah than vice versa.

I read it to mean the 'generic sanitized holiday' like having a "holiday concert" in the winter (what holiday? no one knows) a 'fall festival' 'cause Halloween is way to pagan. They may say 'Easter' but there is no zombie-Jesus just bunnies and eggs.

My HS did ban all religious texts. In 2001 after 9/11 people got strange about religion (especially non western) there were also some religious... spats the led the teachers to just put their foot down and say no more.

f the student is leading other students in prayer on school property...that would probably constitute a problem.
I think this gets tricky. As long as the students are not forcing other students to pray, and as long as a school official isn't a part of us (thus involving the school), it's okay. Kids can organize and have groups about whatever they want, as long as the school isn't sponsoring it, it can be of a religious nature. My high school had a group of kids who met every morning by the flag pole to pray and do bible study and sing praise songs, et. Albeit this was over a decade ago, but still, we all talked about the "legality" of it. It wasn't an official club with an advisor; just a bunch of kids getting together and leading each other.

And I was involved in my high school's Amnesty International and Earth Club groups on school grounds after school hours, without involvement of the staff. But then, that was 17 years ago.

Given that the Easter Bunny is associated with Easter, and Santa is associated with Christmas, i'd say they both have ALOT to do with Christianity.

Exactly. And many "winter concerts" still sometimes regale the joy of xmas.
