Cream Cheese sat out - still safe?

We bought some Philadelphia cream cheese in the little tub today.

We forgot to put it in the fridge, so it sat (sealed, if that makes a difference) out for several hours this afternoon (in our air conditioned house). I'd estimate about 4 hours.

Do you think it's still safe to eat?

I would but that is just me

I left pasta (no meat, just evoo, salt, and garlic) on the stove all night, then heated it up and ate it the next day with no ill effects --- although, that didn't have dairy in it.

I say if it smells okay, and upon a small taste, tastes okay, you are good to go most likely.

Yes. Cream cheese is usually a cultured product, so it takes quite a bit for it to spoil.

I leave cream cheese out for several hours whenever I'm planning on doing something like cheesecake - it makes it easier to work with.

That being said, if it smells weird at all, I'd toss it.
