I am having a happy TF moment here today. After nearly a year in frozen stasis, my kefir grains have been successfully revived. I froze my grains about 11 months ago because I couldn't deal with them when we moved. Then our cow went dry, and life got really crazy, so I just left them in the freezer. I finally got around to getting them out again last week. I stuck them in a jar of fresh milk, left it on the counter for two days, and got busy. I stuck the whole thing in the fridge for 3 more days while I was out of town, and just strained the kefir this afternoon. It is really good! A bit tart, but nice and thick. I am SO happy that I didn't kill them! I can't wait to start having kefir again!
