I'm not sure where else to ask, so I thought I would ask you ladies.
I am planning a homebirth in September, but was told today that I have a bilobal placenta. What little information I can find on it either doesn't list any potential risks or makes it sound like delivery can be life or death for me and the baby.
Do you have any links with more information about this? From what I've read its not a problem until labor begins, possibly when your water breaks, after the baby is delivered, etc. But I can't find any real indepth information (what causes it, what the real risks are, how likely those risks are to occur, whether or not its safe to continue planning a homebirth or if I'm looking at a c-section, etc). After spending all this time planning a homebirth, I think I'm more nervous at the idea of having to deliver in a hospital than anything else.
