cloth diapers? - Page 2

I've been thinking about it as well, but it's going to take a lot of convincing to get DH on board. I think he thinks that the diapers will be mixed with our clothes and it sort of freaks him out - the whole poo thing and all. I've been researching, calculating, etc., We'll just have to see what's best for us when #2 arrives!

We EC'd too and loved it! DS wouldn't potty all the time so we just followed his lead and we were all pretty happy with the results . He had majorly sensitive skin as a babe so he was nekkie as much as possible or wore a loosely snappied PF, no cover, around the house.

This time we still want to EC but would love some more dipes as well for when either we or the baby or both aren't feeling like EC. What dipes did you gals use with EC?

I'm like SuzyLee, I sew all of our own diapers and will certainly keep the next child in cloth. We've been in cloth full-time so it just makes sense to me, I guess.

I think I might make some more one size diapers for when we have 2 in diapers because I can see it simplifying the laundry sorting thing a lot.

For newborns, I loved prefolds and a sappi. After that we use a lot of pockets ad fitteds with wool. fllece, or PUL covers. I'm moving more and more to wool and will probably do a lot of wool sleep sacks for the baby.

We also do EC parttime with dd which is great! I change maybe one ot two poopy diapers a week. Hopefully we can do that with the next one too.

We're going diaper-free this time around, but I'll have all DS's dipes for backup. We just use Indian prefolds without a cover during the day, and double-stuffed bGs at night. Around 8 months we switched DS to Daisy Doodles snap-style pull-ups. With luck, we can go straight to the Daisy Doodles after we implement potty cues. They'll work as underwear but are more absorbent. We'll use them mostly just for going out, regular undies at home. (That's the plan, anyway.)

I DO mix dipes with clothes in the laundry - but I swish out the poo in the toilet first. But when DS's poo was still sticky, I swished them out, then soaked them in a solution of water and Bac-Out and washed them separately. The pee dipes still went in the regular wash though.

To the OP yes Wiggle Worm Bottoms is still in business. You can go to the site and sign up for email alerts to when she is taking orders.

I have a 2 yr old ds who has been 100% in cloth and the next babe will be also. I really like fiiteds and pf's so the itty bitty stage and fitteds, pf's and pockets for later. We mostly use OS fitteds like Piddle Poddles and Goodmamas, I prefered the PP to the GM for a long time because they were a little less expensive and easier to get. Now GM's are easier to get and have drop the price some and the PP are smaler on my skinny 2 yr old, the GM fit MUCH better, other than that the quality is pretty close but I think PP has better customer service. My fav. pf's are from http://www.greenmountaindiapers.com for covers I like Bummis SuperBrite and Thirsties, I also love wool and fleece cover. I have some great fleece covers from Hill Kid Creations and 2by2boutique (on hyenacart). I also have a pull on PUL cover made from the mile high monkey pattern (pattern used for lots of fleece soakers) that I LOVE.

Here is a link to all the nb fluff that I bought before my m/c, I plan on buying some more gmd nb pf's, sm covers and more OS like Bumgenius and GM

I haven't decided which brands I'm going with yet but I LOVE thirsties pocket AIOs, and dreameze AIOs. But I will probably do prefolds, or prefolds and fitteds and thirsties covers for the first few months when they grow so fast and then switch to something more $$$ when they're about in a size M. Not a huge fan of pocket diapers in general, or one size.... But I might consider them possibly. My friend uses bumgenius and loves them but I just can't get into it.

I plan to use GroBaby one size, all in two diapers. I'll have two in diapers and they can both use these dipes, so no worries about if it's the right size or not. I'm going to have to sell some of my current stash to fund a GroBaby stash, though. Holy cow...they're pricey.

I LOVED newborn prefolds for my DS3, and I think they're a fairly new thing. I got them at Green Mountain Diapers and they have orange stitching. They're the same width and thickness as infants, but are a little shorter in the rise, so they're a good size for a newborn.
