Where to find a new foot controler?

I have 2 macines that I use one controler for, and now it needs replacing - its doing this anoying thing where it will start/stop/start/stop as I sew, and because it does it with either machine (one is new, one is old), Im assuming it must be the controler itself.

I have a 20ish yr old singer, and a singer ultralock serger

They both have 3 prongs, the older one like this and the serger like this

I've tried the singer website, but it tells me to go to a dealer, we dont have one close by.

Where should I get one online for not super expensive? Will the kennmore one work? It looks like the one I had before.

I'd try the kenmore one- it should be readily available at any Sears, and it should also be fully returnable if it doesn't work.

True, Its probably a good idea to go with a place that takes returns!

Take your machine (one or both) to your local sewing machine repair man. See if he has a replacement foot control. Most dealers have repair services and take other brands of machines, not just theirs. Or you might just have a stand alone repair service. There is one in my area that repairs sewing machines and vacuums. They also sell used sewing machines and sergers.

Do you still have your user book? It should have a number for replacement parts in there.
