I might try contacting the SA Birth center and seeing if they have any suggestions.

I would see if midwife Alica Voss would do it. She is one of the best midwives in SA and teaches birthing from within classes. She may not want to but it would be worth a try.

I used Julie Walker for my daughter's birth in '08. I've since moved so I'm not sure if she's still attending births, but she was fantastic! She knew I was thisclose to being ready to push even before the nurses and she helped me with positions, etc.

Good luck! I think doulas are an incredibly valuable tool to utilize!!

Hey there!

I am a labor doula serving the San Antonio area. I have worked as a doula since 2009, trained through CAPPA, and am now training as a midwife in New Braunfels, Texas. I have lots of labor support experience both as a doula and a midwife apprentice so I have been in many different situations. Contact me if you are looking for a labor doula!

Monica from Alamo Area Midwifery was my doula.  I loved her and would recommend her highly.

My midwife, Sallie from http://www.empowermentbirthing.com/EmPOWERmentBirthing/What%20is%20a%20Doula%20%20%20%20%20%20%20What%20is%20a%20Monitrice.html  also offers her services as a doula. I can't recommend her highly enough!

She may also have the contact info on a doula in training-needing to get her last in-home hours done for certification.
