What kind of sunscreen do you use? I'm concerned about unnecessary chemicals...

thanks!

We don't use any. We spend more and more time outdoors as the weather warms and build a tan slowly and naturally. We'll wear long sleeves (lightweight fabric, not necessarily sun-proof) if we're feeling the heat too much.

None of us like the feel or smell of sunscreens. I don't like the idea of blocking my skin with chemicals.

We love California Baby's unscented sunscreen.

We'll be using Jason for kids. Seemed to be one of the less expensive ones out there. But we haven't yet, so i can't vouch for it, other than the fact that that brand is popular.

We also don't use sunscreen much. Our backyard is pretty well shaded, and i believe it's good for my veggie kids to get some sun. If there's risk of burning, we'll use it (beach, my friend's perpetually-sunny yard, etc.).

I agree that the chemicals in typical sunscreens are wicked. It's definitely something to be concerned about and to take precautions.

We got rid of processed vege oils, eat plenty of saturated fats, use coconut oil topically, and non of us gets sunburns anymore.
And we are talking about someone who lobstered within half an hour in the past.

:, mostly. I tend to be anti-sunscreen...I have very fair, freckly skin, and rarely burn due to consciousness.

That being said, we live VERY near the beach of Lake Superior and spend a lot of time there...For peak times, I just ordered this:
