Somewhere between Paradise & Prison, there lies... The Domestic Graveyard
http://thedomesticgraveyard.wordpress.com/

Here are the generic questions, but momeg may have more specific ones for you!

Blog Critique Questions

1. What do you think of the layout? The number of columns? The colors?
2. Does my profile info read well? Does it help readers 'know' me?
3. Is the writing interesting to read?
4. Should the writing be strictly educational, or include personal posts to add some personality?
5. Is the content worth coming back for?
6. How can I bring more traffic?
7. How can I generate more comments?
8. Is there something that you feel would take my blog to the next level?

Goth Doris Day!

Beautifully captured the dark side of domesticity.

I still would like to really know about you though--in a real profile, not just Kept Keeper. But, that might screw with the whole gestalt of it...

Thanks so much for the compliment, Lauradbg. I did have a more Meg-centered bio at first, but its total lameness kinda depressed me in a "Damn, am I really that boring?" sort of way, so I changed it.

completely hilarious. You capture the "prison" feeling very well.

Thank you so very much, Freefromitall! I enjoy the laughter of others, especially when it is not directed at me personally...which is usually the case. Anyhoo, I am glad you like it.

Feel free to stop by anytime for a chuckle. Ask Fritz und Hilde for relationship advice. They guarentee a quick turn-over on submitted questions under the comments section of "Love Letters With Fritz & Hilde" .

Or join our little army of malcontents on FaceBook Groups: Bored Housewives LOVE The Domestic Graveyard.

I hope to be doing a lot of technological retooling very soon--give the ol' girl a facelift; if I can figure out all the geek jargon and whatnot, that is--Meg no understand how make blinky box go. Meg get angry at box. Shout profanities.

Very, very clever! I love the photos, you must have fun doing them.

I'll only make a general comment about the layout (because it sounds like you're going to change it)- I'm in conflict about whether the starkness of it adds to the whole feel of the blog. I usually don't like such plain layouts, but in your case the severity of it heightens the effect of your posts, at least for me. That said, the content is so entertaining that I think it'd be hard to create a layout that would detract too much from it.

I agree with Laura, it would be nice to read more about your persona as Meg rather than as the kept-keeper. How boring could you be if you come up with this stuff?

Again, the photos. Fabulous.

Thank you, Pear-Shaped (love the username, btw)! I truly appreciate the positive feedback.

I wish I could say that I meant for it to be so plain, but that would be a lie. Truth is that I am technologically challenged in most all areas, especially where computers are concerned. I can't even figure out how to use my convection oven.

It took me two months to design the header, and it is still blurry. I am working with some pretty primitive software-- like Windows 1955 primitive. There is a guy with Buddy Holly glasses flipping switches on my 10 foot tall desktop right now. I am using PowerPoint to edit my photos, for Christ's sake. That's just sad, man.

I have a very clear concept of what I want to do, as far as content goes, but I am having a heck of a time with the layout and all that html/CSS whatnot. I am trying to learn myself as much as I can on my own, which is challenging with my two rugrats and all. Blog work starts at 10pm most nights and ends shortly after. I am hoping to reach some sort of enlightenment soon though. Make it look less like an seventh grade school project.

And...I guess I will plan to plan to add a bio-page about moi and try not to lie too much.

Anyway, I thank you for stopping by and helping a girl out. I am very appreciative of and any all suggestions. I need 'em!

Hey Pear-Shaped! Just went to your blog. You, my dear, are an interesting person. Those clothes are amazing!

I thought I'd already replied. I love your blog. Hilarious, snappy, groovy. All that stuff. I think the design (or anti-design as the case may be) is just fine. Your content is good-n-plenty. I would like, though, for there to be some way to follow you.

Thank you, AndVeeGeeMakes3. One question--How do you mean, "follow me?"

Ok...I added a subscribe button and a Stumble Upon It button. Hopefully, that will help. Any other suggestions out there?
