toddler back carrier?

Thread Starter
I've got an almost two year old that loves to run, skip and hop, but when we go for long walks in the woods, or in the city, or anywhere she's pretty tired after a few blocks/a slew of exploration

I have a stroller for her for both urban use [umbrella] and an all terrain stroller, but they are a pain in the butt most of the time.

Can someone recommend a good sling/back carrier for toddlers 2+

Thanks!

For bigger and heavier babies I use a wrap or a heavy duty MT. My Didymos waves is a great wrap for a heavy kiddo and my fave right now.

My husband uses an Ergo and many people swear by SSCs for older kids.

We have an Ergo and a Patapum and love them both. They are essentially the same carrier but the Patapum is a little cheaper and fits larger people with out additional accessories. We have the Patapum that is the infant/toddler because at some time we will be having additional children but if you are not planning to use it with smaller children the Patapum has a toddler variety that will hold up to 65lbs. I am not sure that I would like to carry a 65lb child but it is nice to know that it is out there...

I love mei tais for toddlers. The Kozy is my favorite.

I have an Ergo and really love it; it's quite comfortable.

I use an Ergo the most with my 2 yo. Occasionally I carry him on my back with a Beco Butterfly and a Toddlerhawk Mei Tai. The Ergo, right now, is the easiest and most comfortable carrier of the 3.

Oh, if you were able to learn to do a back carry with a short woven wrap, you'd be golden! And when not in use a short woven wrap fits into a diaper bag or can even be worn as a shawl. Here are instructions for rucksack and for that same carry, but with an even shorter wrap and tied under the bum.

Another option is a buckle carrier or mei tai.
