cd'ing at night and the wetness factor

so i'm just wondering how you mamas deal with the wetness at night if you cd? especially since i've seen that some people use pf's at night?

i have a hard time making sure my LO isn't sitting in pee with pf's during the day...do you just resign yourself to changing them throughout the night? i've tried doing pockets at night but i feel like mf in pockets gets yucky and stinky after a while. what about adding a fleece liner to a prefold? i'm looking for something to pull wetness away since i only want to change a dipe once before i go to sleep and eventually not at all once babe starts really sttn.
thanks!

We usually do a double stuffed pocekt at night, but if we do a prefold we use a fleece liner. I just got a piece of fleece from the fabric store and cut it to about 15X5 and lay it in the diaper.

I've found that what matters most is that we have lots of absorbency. So even though the layer next to her skin is wet, its not pooling, since there is someplace for the pee to go. She has a bit of my skin sensitivity but has still remained rash free. DD sometimes goes 11 hours at night without waking and since she is a horrible daytime sleeper I don't wake her for anything that can't be avoided.

we use a prefold and not any kind of liner. she usually gets changed 1x, but sometimes not at all. she doesn't seem to notice at all, and has never broken out in any kind of rash with a pf except when she was smaller and pooping 20420q9402 times a day... if she is in a fleece diaper though, i have to change frequently and rotate with a natural fibered diaper or she will develop a rash. i think as long as the pf is against thier skin it kind of stays warm and not so icky and clamy, if that makes sense.

I use a motherease one size with an orange edge prefold folded in thirds and a wool soaker. She's wet but not soaked. I don't change her in the night.

Usually by this stage (6mo) my kids have been sleeping dry through the night. Not this one though. I try to only use pockets at night for that reason. I usually have to change her once or twice during the night if she is in a prefold or else she is soaking wet by morning.

We use a fuzzi bunz pocket diaper with one hemp and one MF or 2 hemp inserts. You can always stuff a pocket with a PF or hemp or bamboo...

You got a lot of good answers already...

many babies aren't sensitive to the moisture against the skin and do better with natural fibers anyway. If it is an issue for your babe, you can always use a fleece liner with the prefold.

We use a variety of solutions at night, from prefolds to pockets, and they all work as long as there is enough absorbancy.

If you don't like the mf, hemp and bamboo both work beautifully. But at night we need at least 3 inserts of whatever style!

my lo is sensitive and i use a thirsty stuffed with a prefold. he gets changed in the morning and feels dry and the rash is clearing up.
