Sized diapers vs One size

I know it probably depends on the child, but do one sized diapers tend to leak more often than sized diapers? The one "One sized" diaper that I use a lot on my son seems to leak every time, but the sized diapers never seem to. Could I not have it adjusted correctly (meaning that I may need to adjust the size snaps on the front of the diaper)? The sized diapers that I have are Fuzzi Bunz and the one size is a Happy Heiney solid color.

it could just be the way that diaper works for your child, or maybe the way that one size dipes work for your child.

I am totally new to his, but I got all one-sized diapers for my sons who are 2 months old and 3 years old. They all fit the three year old just fine (on the biggest setting of course). None of the snap ones fit the little one at all- they won't go tight enough. Snapping the velcro ones to the smallest snap size and then velcro-ing the top closed works well with the Wonderwrap, but in Mommy's Touch and Blueberries still leaves a little gap that can leak in the front where the diaper cover won't get close enough to his skin.

oh i didnt even think about asking how old your baby was. yea one size diapers dont fit tiny babies as well as sized ones do. we dont have any issues with os dipes now that dd is bigger though!

Once my daughter was about 12 pounds or so, we didn't have leaking issues with the one size diapers. Make sure your inserts (if they are pocket one size) are laying flat and cover the width of the diaper side to side so there are no "empty" areas that would leak out.

I hate one-size diapers. They don't seem to really fit anyone.

The child that have put them on is 2.5 and is about 27 lbs. I had the HH diaper on it's largest setting of the adjustable snaps in the front and the velcro was pretty sung. I do have a few BG diapers that work fine so maybe it's the way HH fits my child? Or maybe I need to adjust the HH down one set of snaps in the front? I was optimistic about the HH b/c I like the size of the closure tabs on the HH vs how small they are on the BG. I don't like snap closures that much b/c my 2.5 yer old is very squirmy and getting them on him is a battle. I accidentally caught a small part of his thigh in the snap the other day. FOr that reason, I prefer the velcro closure for him. I have no problem with the snaps on my 6 month old.

Diapers do fit different babies differently, and it can be hard to find your soulmate diaper. If you find one that works, I would stick with it. I love my BGs. I have some large AIOs and some OS pockets. I have tried other diapers, like HHs and FBs, and I just can't get as good of a fit.

The one sized diapers I've used on my kids have fit pretty well after about 11 lbs, but I actually prefer sized diapers for the most part. I find them to be a bit less bulky and truer to fit than one size diapers overall. But there are always exceptions and you are very right that it does depend on each individual child.

My daughter has been between a medium and large fuzzibunz and it's been tough figuring out what to do. Her bumgenius have been great. Also, the rocky mountain has been awesome for sizing.

i used fitteds and covers with my first and liked them a lot. with my new one i got a bg organic one size as a hand me down and i fell in love with them. didn't start really using them until all the time until she was around 5 months old but they work GREAT! no leaks and we keep them on for 3 hours or so. and very trim! i also like the grobaby snap in one size. we have 2 covers and 4 snap ins and they work great as well (right now they are a little bulkier than the bg). we can get a bunch of uses out of the covers before washing.

I find that Happy Heiny's leak in general. My one-size fitteds do not leak. I personally prefer prefolds and sized covers.
