What is it and where can I find it?

Is there a database or chart or something that gives you an idea of what is "expected" to be covered/learned in each grade? I just want something I can look at and see if we are hitting the basics for each grade level.

There is a book called Home Learning Year by Year by Rebecca Rupp that is AWESOME! I goes through each grade level and outlines specifically what they should be learning. New it costs $14.00 (I got mine used, so just a few $ plus shipping) and is worth every penny. She also has a HUGE book called The Complete Home Learning Source Book, where she goes through every subject and gives you tons of ways to learn on it...books, websites, ideas for field trips, experiments, games, ect. With both of these books, you would able to piece together a curriculum for any grade.

You can do a search using the school district your child would go to their website and search for standards.
It will give you a better break down than what worldbook does.

or by state. I found all of the Alabama standards, since that is where we are. I feel inclined to be sure to cover what the public schools are, for when ds winds up back in public school, if he does.
My sister told me about the ALEX Alabama Learning Exchange site, which has lesson plans that specifically meet the standards and will be helpful for documenting that we have covered these things. I looked at it and it is sure to be helpful. Maybe other states have similar sites.
