Help!! My house smells like vomit!!

UGH!!! My DD had a stomach virus yesterday and :Puke on the living room carpet.A lot now it reeks in here!! Anyone have any solutions?? We used regular carpet cleaner and Lysol...and febreeze(I hate this stuff but my hubby uses it in his car to mask cigarette odors!) now it smells like puke mixed with chemicals.

So sorry about your DD! Hope she feels better soon...

I would pour huge amounts of baking soda on your carpet and let it absorb the smell for an hour or more and then vacuum it up. Hopefully that will work....

I agree with the baking soda and the BioKleen Bac Out. Not sure what the weather is there but if you can leave the windows open for awhile that may help too.
But....if neither work then the only option you may have is borrowing/renting a steam cleaner.
We had the same problem a few weeks ago and in the past the baking soda always did the trick but not this time for some reason. After 2 days I couldn't stand it and borrowed one from a friend-not an industrial one, just the type you can buy for your home. Anyway, it worked wonders and we broke down and bought one the next week! LOL
