Period feelings

I woke up to pee at 3AM as usual but I was in pain from what felt like my period coming. If I didn't know any better I would expect it to arrive in a few hours. My pelvis just has that achy "gravity" feeling like I am about to bleed, but I am assuming that this is normal for this stage? I am not quite 36.5w and the consensus is that I dropped on Sunday.

The weird part is I dreamt that I was in labor the rest of the morning and freaked myself out when DH woke me up. In the dream I could feel the head in the birth canal. I tried to check my cervix but I still can't reach it no matter what position I get into. I am still getting that stabbing feeling in my cervix and after taking a walk just now I totally feel like my period will come.

Please tell me that labor is not about to surprise me

I have been having this exact feeling for the last 2 days or so. I think its just the uterus getting ready but not really labor. My cervix is still closed but soft, though I haven't checked it today. I am trying not to obsess about it!!

I've been having the stabbing pains straight down and occasional period feeling too, off and on since Sunday. I can't reach to check things out either.... I'm 37 weeks today. I had that same exact feeling like he was trying to push his way out in the middle of the night-- (shudder) what a way to wake up!!! I do not remember these pains/wierd feelings with #1- would have gone probably to 41 weeks with her I'm guessing (was induced at 40.2) Hoping this means baby will be earlier than later? Who knows.

I was about to post something similar.
I am not feeling like my period is about to arrive: today I am feeling as crampy and yucky as I do on the second day of the cycle, without the mess.
I am lying on the couch curled up. Have not had any appetite.

Hopefully it won't be much longer... if I go by the other pregnancies, it will be maximum 10-14 more days. Wow, that sounds like A LOT! God, I hope this baby comes before on or before Sunday (my EDD)

I think the prelabor cramping is pretty common. I had a dream when I was about 35 weeks that the baby came so fast, we ended up UCing. That felt pretty crazy when I woke up in the morning!

I've had this off and on for a week. The last few days have been more intense. It is normal and i look at it as practice to what is to come. I just go about my day because in my opinion it is alot less painful then actual labor.

I have been feeling this way for about a week now. Increasingly more so every day. At first it was just when I'd wake up in the morning, so I was attributing it to just achy 3rd trimester joys. But yesterday I had 0 appetite, and I was getting crampy in a pretty consistent pattern... hopefully something's going to happen! I'd really like a July 4th baby.

Yep. I've felt super pms-y and crampy for a while now. I am 38 weeks.

39 weeks today and I feel that way too. More after I go for a walk. I hope I don't go a full 7 more days, but we'll see.

That's how I felt when I went into labor with #2. This time I have been feeling that way for a couple days, but no labor... I'm 38 weeks and expect to make it to my due date (everyone else came at 40 weeks on the dot). Glad to hear others have been feeling the same crampy feelings for a while with no labor starting! I'm determined to make it through this weekend still pregnant!

Well my mw just welcomed me to the beginning of prodromal labor- yay! She is hopeful that this is a sign that I will not go 42+w because I dropped exactly at 36w and began having these symptoms. It sounds like a lot of you mamas are going through the same thing though, so I guess I shouldn't get too hopeful yet. I have to take the GBS test tomorrow and I think I am curious enough to let my OB check me cervix...just this once

Of course, after I posted that I only get that feeling after dtd, I started having period crampy feelings last night (and no, we did not dtd) out of the blue and still have them. They're just kind of there...
