Ok! Well, I haven't done very well with putting up all my dates and whatnot this month...but I will do better next month! At least this still helps me stay on budget, even if I'm not doing it right

7/29 (no spend)
7/30 (budgetted spend--spent $18 on veggies from a farm--will be used to make sauerkraut for the fall{we eat a lot of that in the fall} and other stuff)
7/31 (I am going ahead an putting this up for today! Today am going to a yard sale with tons of baby stuff. Planning on spending some money on boy clothes for the new baby. Only have $30 to spend, have it in cash, so that is my budget, and I can't go over)

Wednesday I drew up a budget draft and went over it with DH. Today I realized that I spend the entire clothing budget EVERY TIME I go shopping. I've spent $50 on clothes at least 4 times this month. I will excuse myself bc about 1/5 of those purchases were for being behind on clothing purchases and we really needed the stuff (pjs, shoes), but a lot of the rest was "too good of a deal." sigh.

Woohoo Carrie! Way to Go! :

I didn't start these no-spend threads...they were going long before I came along -- but they have made a huge difference in my spending too. Which is why I keep them going. These threads helped me pay off 16K in debt.

They keep you focused on financial goals instead of immediate gratification, for me anyway.

Our backyard pool is costing us a TON of money this year because of all the rain Vermont has been getting. I'm seriously thinking of posting it on craig's list and selling it.

My kids love it and swim all the time, but we have access to a lot of pools -- neighbors have pools on both sides, my gym pool, their dad's pool at work (university), the lake, and our community pool.

Do we really need one in the back yard?? I'm seriously starting to question this.
