What are you wearing for labor?

I'm having a homebirth, and I realize I'll probably end up stark nekkid eventually, but I've been wondering about before then. I thought maybe just my sweatpants and t-shirt I wear for pajamas, but then, if I'm leaky, pants may not be the most practical. It's also likely to be pretty hot in the house. We have a swamp cooler that helps, but in typical summer weather here, the best it can do is keep the temp around 80 during the day. So now I'm thinking of maybe making myself a light weight knee length robe. I've been wanting one for summertime anyway, though I've still got a bunch of baby projects I'm working on...Thoughts?

I will be at home, and have a sports bra and shorts ready. When I am in the pool, I will probably just have the bra and maybe some panties, depending on where I am in labor (not while pushing obviously.) I will probably be out of the pool some as well, and for that I will have the bra and a pair of loose shorts. My mom will be here, and I want pictures, so I wanna try and not be naked the WHOLE time-lol

I did most of my labour and birthing in a sarong tied just above my chest. I felt covered, but still naked enough to be free...Id birth in a sarong again..so comfy!

Probably my night long t-shirt to begin with.
Then I will of course, rip it off

This is my first baby, and whilst everyone tells me modesty won't be on my mind, i can't believe that my entire personality (which is extreme body modesty!) will vanish! So... I'm wearing a sport's bra covered with a vest top.. and a Binsi skirt. I also have a cheap black lightweight robe to wear over the top. When I'm in the tub I thought I could have the bra on at least!!

I have short cotton nightgowns to wear (they hit above the knee) and a sports bra for in the tub. We're doing a birth center birth. Hubby will be wearing his swimsuit and a t-shirt most likely.

I am planning on wearing a skirt, and a nursing tank. I might switch it to a nursing bra....as I have a swimsuit packed, but don't know if I'm actually going to be like, "ok, time to change into the swimsuit top!"
So, maybe a skirt and a nursing bra with a loose tank over it?
I don't *think* I want to be bare-breasted, but you never know...

I'm planning on having a hospital birth, but they do have jacuzzi tubs in all of the rooms. So I was thinking about wearing my bikini top under a nightshirt or something.

After my scare the other day, I've been struck with the need to shave and trim and such before I go to the hospital again. I probably wouldn't have cared if I'd been in labor, but my fuzzy ankles made me self-conscious.

I'll be in the hospital. I'm going to bring a few things and decide then what I feel like wearing. If I'm in the jacuzzi tub, I'll probably just wear a bikini top. Out of the tub, I'll wear a shelf tank (which is what I've been wearing to bed during this pregnancy). I might just wear the hospital gown. Who knows.

Last time I thought I'd really care, but when it came down to it, I didn't.

I've been planning to wear this nursing bra I have that looks like a sports bra and a skirt. I have a cotton dress that might work well too. When I'm in the birthing tub I plan to at least wear the bra if not my swimming suit bottom too. We'll see. For my last birth I totally ended up not caring who saw what, but from where I'm standing now, I have a hard time imagining feeling like that again.

I'm wearing a loose knit skirt and a bikini top. I'm having a homebirth, but I don't feel comfortable just walking around stark nekkid, even in my own house (plus I want lots of pics that I can share! ). If I'm not comfy I'll change into something different or wear a robe, probably. With DD I wore a sports bra and hospital robe, so I know at least the top won't bother me

Well, since I'll be at home I have a lot of freedom and though I hear from everyone that I'll want to be naked, I just don't know about that-- maybe before when my boobs weren't so large and floppy, but now not wearing a bra makes me extra sweaty! Sooo, I got a bikini for the tub and a loose/stretchy black knee-length skirt for when I'm just walking around or on the birth ball or whatever. I chose all black figuring that what I wouldn't worry about anything getting stained or dirty.

I'm soooooooooooooo ready!

I have a shortish cotton maternity dress from Old Navy that looks like the best candidate. It is structured in a way that if I don't want to wear a bra, I will be comfortable enough like that. In the birth pool, I'll probably just wear a sports bra.

Tankini, that will be coming off. I hate the feeling of being constricted by anything near the end. And that was in the hospital too.

If I go into the birth tub at the hospital I have a tankini to wear. If I stay dry I have a nursing nightgown that I've worn for my last two births.

I'll be at home. I bought a night gown that says "Mom" and has a sparkly tiara applique over the "o". I plan on wearing that until I get into the tub, then probably just a sports bra in the water. I'd like to be able to have a few birth pictures without my Amazonian boobs hanging out. We'll see, though.

I plan on wearing nothing.

I did pack a sarong just in case I wanted to wear it.. plus, I have my robe packed too.. but won't be birthing in it.

well, crap!
Hadnt thought too much on this.
What are the chances of the clothes you wear getting totally destroyed?
I have an old navy tank/dress deal that is super comfy that I would like to wear, but I like it- lol- so I dont want it destroyed with fluids... LOL... I was in a hospital gown for the last birth, so I have no idea - I didnt care LOL!

Hospital gown, b/c I'll be at a hospital and I don't want to mess up my clothes from the birth. I have pj's, yoga pants and built in shelf bra tanks for postpartum.

Speaking as someone who is always cleaning up and starting laundry after homebirths, everything should wash out of your clothes just fine, even if you et blood on it. Just soak it in cold water for a while before running it through a cold wash cycle. If it still has blood on it, use a spot cleaner or something and wash again. Don't dry until its all clean, as the heat will set the stain. You can also spot clean with hydrogen peroxide, esp when the blood is fresh still.

But, in my experience, if the laundry is done within a day or two, it'll all come out rather simply!

I'll be stark naked for my labor and birth.
