July Dingoes ~ Running into the Sun - Page 3

poppy and mommabelle~

muppet~Welcome! As far as the 305, I have one, but I don't really pay too much attention to the calories. If you've put in all your info accurately, and wear the HR monitor, theoretically it *should* be pretty close, and I think it probably is. Mine usually has me right about 100 calories/mile for running, which is about right.

:yawning:

And have I mentioned :yawning:? This whole 8 hours of sleep for two nights combined is not working well for me. I AM going to nap as soon as I get caught up on the interwebs. Homework can wait for tonight. When I'll stay up way too late on it again. But...I shouldn't need to be up till 3:30 and I don't have to get up at 5, so at least it won't be AS bad.

rr#2 ~ Just under 21 miles on the bike. My legs surprisingly didn't feel too bad. Definitely kind of tired, especially on the way out, which was uphill, but I could have gone a few more miles. It was really nice, just kind of hot. I really don't understand the people who are out running in completely exposed areas at noon when it's 95 out. I mean, do you really have absolutely no other option, or is there some sadistic part of you that actually likes that???

Naptime...

Um, a little bit of both, but mostly the latter. :

Well, I guess if you like it, more power to you! I just know that *I* would keel over and die! :

It feels like that, actually. I've been one of those 95-degree runners too. : It felt like "no other choice" but mostly it's because I can't get it together (and spend too much time online) to get out of the house sooner. I think I did it pre-DD too, probably for the same reasons. I thought about doing it today after I finished errands but decided I'd run in the evening instead.

That said, I do a lot less of it now that we have a treadmill. It made a huge difference!

grnmtnmama--glad you had a good trip!

Not only are you all very educated but you are great at personals. I can't keep up.

to muppet

JayGee, have you been able to run outside during any of this incredible weather? I love it and can't get enough. Cool, low humidity, just perfect and very, very odd for July.

I tried to run in the evening on one of those hot days and could not do it. I got the chills and everything and had to call it quits halfway through my planned run.

Get some rest Gaye!

Alison is in preschool?! : Wow and congrats on the time.

Dh is home from soccer so it is dinner time. I'll be back later for more I hope.

Happy Birthday pastor lastname. :

Poppy for the little girl and for those with her.

Lots of personals in my multiquote so here goes:

ABBA concert sounds fun AND like a good way to loose about 10 lbs.

Strange. Must be a regional thing.

Yes, I get it. The whole reason you brought it up in the first place. duh to me You should totally be Pastor Last Name.

We have lovely state parks, not as many amenities as in other parts of the world but that's not always a bad thing.

okay, back to making my way through my work. talk soon.
It me. Again Wendy and I are really, truly different people I'm not sure yet what the plan is -- it cannot involve a trip to Canada because I can't find Leah's birth certificate (d*mmit!!). And the whole deal is in three or four days we drive from Cleveland, out to see my mom in a nursing home in Worchester, MA and see the ocean. Sooooo it might just be the cape. Although truly, I'm so removed from the whole East Coast deal that I about DIED when I saw how much it would be to camp on the cape. eeek!

<delete large rant about how my dh is driving me nuts by not really helping on the packing and rather heading out on a long run>

Muppet- my good friend is actually a PhD and her husband a Lt something in the Canadian AF. Since my son just graduated and we sent them an announcement, I asked her how to do it! It looked like this :

Lt. Whatever Hisfirstname Hislastname and Dr. Herfirstname Herlastname
General Delivery
Their Town, BC, Canada

True story, they live on their boat. His name is also gender neutral and very French sounding, hers is very feminine and white bread American. We were cracking up addressing the envelope.

Have to catch up on the thread, I forgot to subscribe....

Well, went to the doctor with DD1. They want to do an EEG on her. Not too much of a problem, except they want her sleep deprived. She has to stay up till 11pm tonight (bedtime is normally 7-7:30), and she has to be up no later than 3am! The doctor thought, maybe seizures, and she wants to rule them out. I am SO not looking forward to this. Wish me luck, and please keep my Katie in your thoughts.

Oh Bec! My heart goes out to you and Katie, praying for you.

I will be thinking of you guys. Good luck tomorrow, and : that they discover it's nothing to worry about. Maybe it's good that they are taking everything seriously, and there will be much relief tomorrow. And a nap.

Oh Bec, thinking of you! I hope everything turns out fine and will be thinking good thoughts for Katie. I can't imagine finding out on such short notice that you'll only sleep from 11-3 tonight, either. Do you think it will be hard to keep her awake? What's open 24 hours near you?

Good luck, and I'll be thinking of Katie. I hope everything goes smoothly.

rr: 5 mile tempo run, numb feet again but I ran through it, wasn't too bad.

Tomorrow's my Friday! So glad I have a 3 day weekend.

Bec, I'll definitely be thinking of you tonight and tomorrow morning. Hope all goes well with your DD .

I had the nicest open water swim tonight. It's cool and cloudy out and the water was so perfect. We swam 1.5 miles and it felt great!

My girls are driving me totally around the bend :. I need to go to bed. And so do they.

just for Gaye:

I just made some kombucha. I'm going to let it chillax in my fridge while I'm gone for two weeks.

I know, I know. Everyone else but me has a packed suitcase and I'm here at mothering. sigh.

Plady - First of all, Allison in preschool? Whaaa......? Isn't she an infant?!

mamabeth - Here all our pastors go by their first names. We only have one female pastor, our full time children's pastor, and the kids all tend to call her Miss Evelyn, and the full time male youth pastor just Chad. I don't know what to make of that on the gender front? I'm trying to recall ever hearing any of my pastors referred to as Pastor, and I can't. Odd. All the churches I grew up in varied between Pastor Firstname and Pastor Lastname (but although I was in churches with pastors of either gender, never one with one of each.)

I didn't get a chance to do any emailing today - it was my day off and I don't know the suits email.

I bought all sorts of camping food today! I'll pick up perishables on Sunday before we take off on Monday. I cannot wait to see some dingo sisters!

Race list updated to here!

Second quick post for poppy: I'm so sorry to hear about your friend's little one. That is so, so awful. They'll be in my prayers.

Must. Do. Homework. I have less than two weeks to figure out exactly what lab stuff I need to get done before we leave for Ohio. And then DO IT. Sigh. And of course, I have THREE fricking A&P labs due while we're gone, I think. I don't mind the micro labs...they're normal. It's these stupid A&P labs with seven bajillion extra steps added. Seriously, it's junior high-ish...
