sleepy wrap vs. moby or other?

Hi all

i have baby #2 coming in october...
have an ergo and a ring sling, and a dear friend wants to buy me a wrap.
i am so excited, b/c i wanted to get a wrap for this one!
she's asked me to the pick the brand and color.

she had suggested the sleepy wrap, and i like that it is organic cotton...
but everyone seems to have and love the moby.
just wondering if anyone can compare the two,
sleepy vs moby
and/or if anyone can tell me their experiences with the sleepy wrap.

thank you so much!!!

One vote for Sleepy Wrap!

I love, love, love my sleepy wrap. I am so happy that I found it since my newest little one would not sleep unless he was being held (or riding in the car). With two older children, it has TRULY been a life saver. I may be slightly biased since I haven't tried a Moby. My only issue is that we live in Florida where temps have been 90+ already. I haven't been brave enough to use it outside this month. While the cloth is very stretchy and comfy for baby, it is not suitable for use during a Florida summer. Great for inside use though, espcially while I'm cleaning

Now . . . while I definitely recommend this for the newborn-3 month range, I could definitely see myself purchasing a ring sling when he's able to sit up.

Also, I forgot to mention how incredibly comfy the Sleepy Wrap. I have always had lower back issues and my babies tend to be quite large. My 2 month old is 15lbs already and I am able to wear him for most of the day without back pain.

I have the Moby and I loved it! Especially in the winter - you do get quite warm with all the fabric and bay and mommy body heat. I never heard of a Sleepy Baby, but I went on their website and they look exactly the same. I'm not sure how the fabric compares, but I think whichever you choose will be fine. They are essentially the same thing IMO.
You will love either one - wraps are great for those tiny little ones! Good luck!

They are both pretty much the same thing. Sleepy Wrap and Moby are both stretchy wraps. The Sleepy Wrap is just a little bit more stretchy than Moby, but both are comfortable. To be honest, I'd just go with the color you like best of either one of these.

I've been told the Sleepy Wrap has lycra so while it's a bit more stretchy, it holds it's stretch better if that makes sense. With the Moby you have to adjust more often as they get heavier but not as much with the Sleepy Wrap because of the lycra. I haven't tried the Sleepy Wrap so can't say for sure but 2 of my friends got the Sleepy Wrap because of the lycra/cotton blend to hold the shape better over time.

I have a sleepywrap and I love it! Its so soft and snuggly. I tried a friends moby and didn't like the feel of it as much as my sleepy wrap. It didn't feel stretchy to me. The sleepywrap is what I always imagined the Moby to be like! I like the stretch of the sleepywrap because I can tie it on really tight and still pop my baby in and she rides high and it is SO comfortable. More comfortable than my Ellaroo for sure.

I wore my baby in the Sleepywrap for over 4 hours one day and aside from feeling pregnant all over again I wasn't uncomfortable at all. My baby is only 8 weeks though, don't know how it will be as she gets older.

Good luck choosing!

My friend had a sleepy wrap that she wears constantly with one of her kids (she has three, so they all get swapped out during the day). I bought one for DS2 who is 15 months and 28lbs and it works great for him. He loves it! I am pregnant again and think it will help me so much with this baby. I did not have great luck with ring slings, they just always seemed so uncomfortable to me
