Suggest some movies.

I want to rent a movie tonight. I'm in the mood for a comedy, to be honest...something pretty lightweight. I don't want heavy drama, and I'm not in the right place for action. Normally, this mood would mean something like maybe Night at the Museum. However, I want something new, and we've seen NatM a couple of times.

The catch? I had a c-section on Friday. My abdomen is still pretty sore, and laughing is just not a good idea. I need something that's more likely to make me smile and maybe chuckle a little...but not laugh out loud. Laughing hurts.

Any thoughts at all? If it's really obscure, I probably can't get it, as I'm going to the little video place across the street, and they don't have a huge selection.

It's not funny that you are in pain and can't laugh, but I can picture you walking into that little video store and explaining to the clerk that you want a comedy that won't make you laugh too hard because you don't want to feel your belly bursting!

I can't think of anything off hand...but whenever I'm trying to pick a movie, I go onto IMDB.com and search the genres or actors that I'm in the mood for. You can read reviews and get summaries of the plot.

Hope you found something in the meantime : )

New in Town was REALLY cute and funny. There is only one real laugh out loud part. Shag is a fun chick flick (drama but cute). Adventures in babysitting , The American President, French Kiss, Baby Boom, Bend it Like Beckham, Eddie, Ghost town (could hurt c section), Heaven can wait, Mannequin, Notting Hill, Overboard, Return to me, Stranger than Fiction

I take no responsibilty for any popped stitches. Congrats on your new bundle. with the recovery.

I just recently watched "Burn After Reading" which I found smile-worthy and snort/giggle-worthy at times. I was expecting another Lebowski or Oh Brother, so was slightly disappointed - but it is a funny movie, just not LOL-funny.

Good luck and congrats on your new baby

Okay - dh decided we should watch Canadian Bacon, in honour of Canada Day (I'm Canadian, and we live here, but dh is American). It's not quite what I had in mind, but it's actually working quite well...light and goofy, but not laugh-out-loud funny.

I watched Canadian Bacon a few weeks ago...my fiancee is from Canada and got a good chuckle out of it. I love John Candy movies....especially Uncle Buck and the Great Outdoors.
