"ambitious" baby in moby

Thread Starter
i finally got my moby and i love it, but i'm having some issues figuring out what carry works best for ds. he is 4 weeks old and super alert, loves to look around. when he is awake he is constantly trying to hold his little head up and observe, but he doesn't have the greatest neck control due to his age.

so far the "newborn hug hold" has been the most comfortable, but unless he is asleep or tired, he does NOT want his head tucked under the fabric. i walked around with one hand supporting/spotting his neck, which was fine, unless i need to use both hands.

any suggestions?

dd was the same way in the moby; she would only be happy in it if she was asleep or if she could look around, so from very early (5 weeks or so) I would carry her in it facing out much like the kangaroo link from pp.
she didn't have much neck control then either, but i would either use a hand to support her head or even roll up a receiving blanket and lightly wrap it around her neck to form a supportive collar. some babies are just so eager to take it all in right from the very beginning!

Unless their sleeping, none of my kids have liked their heads covered. At 4 weeks though, he should be able to lean his head on your chest while you are wearing him. Pull the crosses all the way up to the back of his neck, leaving his head out and leaning on your chest.

: Dd was like that, I would put her in the tummy to tummy position and use the criss-cross up high to support the base of her neck. Then she could look left to right without her head covered.
