I should have introduced myself before just joining and immediately posting a question for my own selfish reasons haha...but with the baby on her way I have been so busy! I don't want to be rude, so here it goes...
Hi there everyone! I'm Jodie....first time "Mom To Be" at 26 years old, hailing from NJ (originally North, but a transplant to South). Our first child is due August 30th (though my mom swears she will be a week early, just like I was) and I'm so very excited! I originally planned on having the child in a "traditional" way....being rushed to the hospital, dealing with tons of doctors and other people that I would not be familiar with, but then I got real....I'm not a fan of "traditional" medicine or hospital settings for that matter and realized I wanted the closest thing to a natural birth. After being told I was totally low risk, yet being put through a bunch of tests that seemed unneccessary, I came to realize that it wasn't my "scene." When I told my mother my hardest decision was going to be whether or not to receive an epideral when I was delivering, she scolded me and promptly told me that I would be fine without all the nonsense meds they would push into my system.
So, here I am....so far my pregnancy has been a smooth one. Of course there are those minor discomforts from time to time but I am now into my 8th month and still working seven days a week on the beautiful horse farm in South Jersey where we reside. We currently have 24 horses and I wouldn't know what to do with myself if I didn't have them to care for each day : )
I look forward to "meeting" everyone and gaining insight from other "like-minded" mamas!
