Just wondering how this is going to work out. I've nursed in pregnancy before, but not a baby younger than one. Most of his nutrition and 100% of his hydration are from me at this point. I'm concerned that he'll stop nursing b/c of supply issues and we'll have to supplement. I DON'T want that!

This book feels good in your hands. The paper is heavyweight, and the illustrations flow perfectly.

I am nursing a 17 month old right now, so it doesn't fit as well, but when I got pregnant with my second child, my first was 12 months old. I continued to let her nurse when she needed/wanted to, and I increased her food intake as she was ready for it (probably earlier than I would have otherwise, but it was necessary at that point). I never had to supplement with formula. I nursed her during the night until I was about 6 months pregnant (she was 18 months old), at which point I night weaned her. My milk supply went down a bit, but I never lost my milk. In fact, when my ds was born, he actually got regular milk for a day and a half, and then the colostrum came in. FWIW, she's still nursing, at 3 yrs old, and so is my 17 month old.
Just make sure you are taking in enough calories and water to make a baby as well as make good milk for your sweet girl.

Have you heard of More Milk Two? I have not used it myself, but I know a lot of moms on here have during pregnancy.

I got pregnant last time when my son was barely 12 months. I nursed all through pregnancy and my milk never dried up. The first trimester was tough due to sensitivity but it eventually went away. I never supplemented.
Good luck, mama!

I'm not during this pregnancy, but I was during my last--my daughter was 6 months old when I conceived my second. I never lost my milk; I went maybe a little militant with taking More Milk 2, eating TONS of oatmeal and drinking insane amounts of water, but it was worth it, my milk didn't take any significant spike until she was about 13 and a half months old, and my 2nd was born the day she turned 15 months old. Good luck, mama!

I'm nursing an 11 month old, so barely qualify. I've been very lax about feeding her table foods though, she nurses for all of her calories and just eats a few bites here and there. Since I'm feeling a milk dip already, I've finally got us in a schedule of eating foods starting yesterday. I'd been meaning to do it anways, but now I have the motivation. So now we've added breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks to the routine... suddenly my life just got busier! But it's also a good chance for me to get all the foods I need too instead of slacking and just getting food when I finally couldn't stand being hungry anymore.
