Hello
I am a soon to be mother of 2
: I am 28 weeks pregnant with our second child, my first is almost 2
It happened so quickly!
A little about me....I really enjoy sewing. I made a rag quilt for the new baby, and am working on one for my daughter. I made my mei tai, and am making another one to keep in the car, as well as a couple of ring slings. I really want to have a vegetable/herb garden one day but I'm just going to take it one step at a time
I am involved with the local LLL chapter, and am helping out with a conference that is happening in my city in October (I'm doing the registration). I am also training to be a doula...I have taken the training, and am now taking a break to have the baby LOL kind of backwards but whatever
I'll focus this year on training by distance and such. Ask me 2 years ago if this was where I would be and I would've told you you were crazy!
My daughter's birth had more interventions than I had hoped for, breastfeeding was non existent, and I didn't parent the way I had envisioned while pregnant. While we weren't hardcore, I did let her CIO on nights when I had no idea what to do
I feel horrible that thats the way things turned out but my support system was my husband. To this day he sees nothing wrong with CIO.
He is uncomfortable with sharing our bed, but we are going to have the next baby sleeping in a cradle on my side of the bed. It took some insisting on my part but I'm not willing to lose half my nights sleep sitting in a rocking chair while breastfeeding. I have also been making my own baby carriers (made a mei tai and now going shopping for ring sling fabric) and have also made friends with some AP moms. Its a whole new ballgame for me.....I'm having a hard time getting my husband on board. He was spanked all the time as a child and doesn't see anything wrong with it
Trying to get him to see why I am opposed to it and why I don't want it in our house is REALLY hard. Our little girl is getting to the stage where's she's being defiant in some areas (throwing a tantrum when we're leaving) and I'm stuck as to how to deal. One of the AP moms I am friends with recommended this forum....hope I can meet some new online friends
