America's Got Talent

I have been watching for the first year ever, and I am really impressed by the talent they have on this show. There doesn't appear to be an age limit, which is great because some of these kids will blow you away. Two of them that I think everyone should see:

1) 13 year old Thia Magia...with the voice of someone twice her age.

2) Arcadian Broad, who is just like a little Billy Elliot.

Maybe I should start watching this season.....and give it another chance.

I watched last season and was very disappointed in who won and the guy I liked was runner-up.

OK, I've been watching this season. I told my bedroom TiVo to record a season pass, but then I forgot to watch it for a few weeks. So this morning I've had it on, watching the last 5 episodes. I think I missed one or two, but that's fine. I was kind of amazed at just how unique some of the talent is. I was surprised at some of the people they put through to the Top 40. I haven't seen anything past the cutting rounds to get the Top 40, so I don't know what Simon is going to change.

I thought both Break Skate and Destined to Be should go through. I'm surprised they let the older female dancer through--the one who was in her 60s and a cashier from New Jersey. And the 8 year old who was funny but didn't really sing that well go to go through, but the 8 year old who sang well didn't. Although I actually like when children sing like children better, and she probably has something interesting to bring to the competition.

I am ALWAYS disappointed in the judging on this show.

How interesting that they ended up pitting those two against each other, and then having the judges decide who would stay and who would go.

i haven't watched the last 2 episodes yet (M &T nights) b/c we were in disney - so they are on the dvr...

but I was REALLY disappointed they sent the girls from Hawaii & the woman with the cleft lip and all but 1 magician...

and then some of the people they kept - like a PP said, the dancing older woman - like she'd really win? give me a break.... it just seems so random

ok I watched them and I see they brought back acts... it looks like 2 so far - does anyone know how many total?

The yodeling dominatrix is out now. Yeah, I liked the young magician from Manassas--Jay Mattioli, I just looked up his name--but then they cut him as soon as he landed. I was hoping they'd bring him back.

I think my favorite was the Fab Five. I also liked Peter Peterkin, Paradizo Dance, the dog guy, the Beale Street Flippers and Charles Dewayne, although I don't think he did himself any favors with that song. The male dance group was good, but kind of slow and a little boring, I felt. I think I liked the Flippers better when they had the other guy who did the dancing during their flipping. I thought Alizma was terrible. I liked the little girl who sang and danced, but I didn't think her singing was great and she needs more work. I felt the same way about Voices of Glory, but maybe that's because I was watching it streaming over the NBC site.

I actually liked the dog guy, and I've watched a show with a man who did tricks like that with dogs, but he used a lot of dogs and did different things, and he did some magic too. So I think he's going to need to expand his act but you can actually perform with a dog act.

I thought paradizo dance got a lot better between their audition and now... I also felt the opposite about Pete Peterkin - he was much better in his audition ...

I did not watch last night's results show so... who knows if either went through LOL

The ones who went through were the Fab Five, Voices of Glory, Texas Tenors, Paradizo Dance and Tony & Rory (the dog & man duo).

A close relative went on this show and just so you know the whole show is fixed. They changed his song a few hours before he went on to a song he didnt know, "lost his necessary props" and several other things I wont get into. He said there is so much that goes on behind the scenes that is just awful. I have no respect for this show now.
