Can I freeze ricotta cheese?

I have a whole container of ricotta cheese, purchased last week for a recipe that I ended up not making because I didn't have all the ingredients...so I either need to use it up or freeze it...

I do it all the time. I buy a case of ricotta (six containers) when it's on sale and throw it in the freezer.
