Question about ovulation and wierd cycles

My question is how do you know the exact date of O? Is it the last day of EWCM for you? I was looking at my past charts when I was ttc and it would tell me I O'd (based on temp shift) right in the middle of my EWCM...not when it ended. I would also get O pains at different times than that ... there would be 2-3 more days of ewcm. This past cycle I felt like I o'd on day 20 because that was the last day of ewcm, I felt o pains, and after this day my libido went back to normal. Is this a good way to determine O...b/c apperently my old chats show it happening before these signs. I'm trying to determine when I'll get AF because of travel plans, etc. I already feel like I have major pms. Ugh.

It sounds like you are very aware of your cycles- personally, I generally do O on the last day of ewcm- I think most people do, but if you know your history shows otherwise, I'd go with what you think your body does.

I use both temperature and CF to determine. I find that temps really, really help pin down O. FOr me, CF dry up patterns aren't always consistent w/ O. HOwever, I think it's generally accepted to call the last day of fertile quality CF (even if it's gone from EW to creamy) before a 3 day dry up the O day.

I have crazy cycles too. For me, I've found that temping is the only way that I know that I O'd for sure. In fact, I had some crazy ewcm a couple of weeks ago, and never did O. I think I finally did yesterday, and had less ewcm. I feel better when I take my bbt.

I just started tracking 2 months ago, and I was surprised at how off I was about when I ovulated. I was off by 4 days! I find that I can't know for sure unless I use the basal temperature with ewcm. Otherwise, I find I am WAY off in my calculations.
